Oh how nice. I think its every girl's dream of having a Chanel in a wardrobe. Ok, rephrase: every girl that is handbag crazy would love to have one in her wardrobe.
I was never into Chanel. Or I always thought it was very "old" fashion. Maybe the advertisement before this decade is for the "older people". But, its very different now. He started using people like Lily Allen for example. So, a girl who ran away from home to go to Glastonbury Festival at the age of 13 became a lady of class with the help of Chanel.

I guess that's when it changed my perceptions of Chanel.
It didn't help when Mom came back with 2 pieces for herself recently. Her excuse for having 2 pieces was "to hand it down to her 2 daughters". But I think we'd have to wait till when she is about 100 yrs old before she does that. (and that would make me about 77 yrs old) hmmm...
Anyway, the one my sister "booked" is really nice yellow classic 2.55. And the other one is a 2 color flap one, which I don't really fancy. I prefer the real easy to match ones, like a black one... :)

*smile*
Even with the 15% off that my mom gets from her friend's daughter (which has ties with the Chanel shop at the Gardens), I don't think I can purchase it. I'd have to let go of a lot of things. I'd have to take the bus to work (or a bicycle), I'd have to skip lunch (and dinner), I'd have to stop buying make ups/ facial things entirely till I'm about 60 or so.
So, no, Chanel is a no go. Unless my mom decides to be nice and purchase one for me while she's travelling in Europe and I can pay her in installments till Im about 40 or so. hahahahaha (ok, exaggerating here).
Anyway, you can get a second hand one frm Glampot (they had one in Red that was sold for about RM10K).
A little bit about Chanel bags..
In a nutshell
Why 2.55?
Coco Chanel introduced it in Feb 1955
This model generally comes with a chain strap and a flap.
Te lock that comes with the CC are called "Classic" and the straight (rectangular) lock at the "reissue".
The classic has the woven leather in between the chain, the Reissue is just the chain.

And thanks to Bagcraze, I now know more about Chanel (and other bags). She's got a whole load of information on her blog about mostly any brands of bags.
